Sony Joins the RGB Backlight MiniLED TV Party
Sony has shown journalists new LCD TVs using RGB miniLED backlights on a trip to Japan. This follows on from demonstrations of the same technique at CES in January 2025 by Samsung, Hisense and TCL. Check here for our report on these demos and on the history of this concept, which goes back multiple decades. Those seeing the demos were impressed and Sony expects to bring TVs to market using its Triluminous trade mark.
