Intuit Dome Wows with 233 Million Pixels
The newly finished LED ‘Halo’ display in the Intuit Dome in LA, home of the LA Clippers, was recently revealed and the specification is that the circumference of the inner display is 623′ (190M) with a height of 32′ (9.75M). The custom display from Daktronics is based on a 3.9mm pitch so we calculate the resolution as 48K (!) x 2.5K or 127 megapixels. There is also an outer display of 661′ circumference (201M) and 28′ high (8.53M) which we calculate as around 51.6K x 2.18K resolution (113 megapixels). Altogether there are 233 million LEDs or around the same as seven 8K displays. Check here for a video report. The venue will be used for music as well as sports events.
