TCL CSOT Shows 8K Light Field Display at IFA 2023
TCL CSOT, the Chinese panel maker, has shown what it calls an 8K Light Field Display* at the recent IFA trade show in Berlin. the firm said that the panel allows the human eye to directly perceive a realistic 3D image with more than 60° of viewing angle and 120 viewing points, without the need for any additional auxiliary equipment.
The application is perfect for 8K displays which can provide the high number of pixels to support multiple different images on the display at the same time.
- Display purists would not describe this as a light field display, but as an autostereoscopic display.
