Pure Fi Has Modular HDMI Concept Cable
A couple of years ago, the writer had to install a new cable in a wall. Finding an HDMI cable that would fit through the ducting needed for electrical safety regulations in the UK was a real challenge. So I was impressed when I saw a new modular concept cable from Pure Fi that was launched at the Cedia 2023 event. The cable uses a 0.2″ (5mm) optical (HDMI 2.1 Actice Optical Cable – AOC) cable that can be fitted with different connectors. The architecture means that if HDMI is superseded by another standard in the future there is the possibility of fitting different receivers and transmitters without the need to change the optical cable.
