Comments – Samsung Unveils ISOCELL Image Sensor With Industry’s Smallest 0.56μm Pixel
Samsung has released the latest version of its ISOCELL 200-megapixel smartphone camera sensor, the HP3. The chip reduces the pixel size by 12% and will reduce the space taken by the camera. The chip has Super Quad Phase Detection (QPD) autofocus technology for faster and more accurate focus and can capture 8K at 30fps or 4K at 120fps. There’s a boost in bit depth from 12 bits to 14 bits for ‘better pixels’. Mass production should start this year, with the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra rumored to use it reportedly from July.
