DeltaCast offers an EDID editor tool that makes it easier to troubleshoot HDMI, DisplayPort, or DVI connectivity issues. Their latest release supports 8K formats. EDID works by establishing a connection between the screen and the video source in which they exchange data via a “handshaking” process. Many of these connection interfaces support a very specific set of signal formats and knowing what the sink device can support is critical in getting a picture on the display.
