Comment – Samsung Developing 200-Megapixel Phone Camera for Galaxy S23

In 2020 Samsung pioneered a 108MP smartphone camera sensor that could capture 8K video. This new sensor doubles the pixel count to support 8K/30p capture. But with pixel binning, this new sensor should allow better low light capture while maintaining the 8K video resolution. As the headline suggests, this could show up in Samsung high-end phones in 2023. The Korea IT news article is here. We also just learned that Motorola will be the first to use the new sensor in a smartphone along with the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset as reported here.
