Comment – BT delivers the first live 8K sports broadcast into the home
For over five years, BT Sport has been a trailblazer with live 4K resolution. It, therefore, comes as no surprise that they are back at the leading edge with live 8K deliver from a premium sporting event right into consumers’ homes. As many operators are starting to learn how to deliver glass-to-glass live 4K, BTs efforts are impressive, even if this is still a technology demonstrator. The many project partners include Sony, Samsung and Synamedia. No commercial service has yet been discussed by the British operator.
