IEC Adopts Gamut Rings

We spotted the news on LinkedIn that the IEC has standardized the concept of Gamut Rings, a way of presenting the performance of a display in a more useful way than traditional chromaticity diagrams. The technique had already been adopted in the International Display Measurement Standard, but is now standardized for laser projectors in IEC 62906-6-1

While the gamut ring concept is not directly related to 8K, we thought readers of our website and newsletters would be interested. There is a good explanation of the topic here.
