How Netflix’s ‘Adolescence’ Filmed Four One-Shot Episodes on an 8K Camera

The recent drama “Adolescence” on Netflix was a dramatic tour de force, but it was also an incredible achievement as highlighted in an article on FStoppers. The four one hour episodes were each created as one single take.
We wondered about the camera used and were interested to capture the image in this article that shows that the camera used was the 8K-capable Ronin 4D (although we have seen no references as to whether any of the content was shot in 8K). We assumed it was chosen because of the integral gimbal head which will have helped a lot in the many ‘hand offs’ in the programme including the attachment to a drone and this was confirmed in an article on RedShark. Cook SP3 prime lenses with a Tilta Mirage variable ND were used. If you have 20 minutes, the ‘making of’ video is worth a watch.
