Dell & HP Disable HEVC Support on Some PCs

Ars Technica reported that Dell & HP have actually dropped support for the hardware decoding of HEVC/H.265 from some of their popular business notebooks, although the systems have support built-in. The site suggests that this is because of the cost of paying licence fees for the technology. Neither company denied this and acknowledged the change.

Understandably, some users feel that this is a retrograde step on systems that the site says cost $800 or more.
