Apple Uses 8K 3D content for Vision Pro
9to5Mac reported on the use by Apple of ‘Apple Immersive Video’. Apple Immersive Video features 180-degree 3D 8K recordings Apple said.

Technical details of the video format do not appear to have been published yet. Although each of the eyes sees a 4K x 3K image, they are effectively ‘windows’ onto a 180-degree canvas of content, so the viewer can move their head to reveal different parts of the image. That means that the capture format has to have much higher resolution than either eye if the full level of detail is to be shown to the viewer.
